Abstract
An equation is given for the local Nusselt number in laminar convection heat transfer to power‐law non‐Newtonian fluids. This expression, which even for Newtonian fluids (n = 1) does not appear to have been derived before, is obtained from the exact asymptotic solution of the appropriate laminar boundary layer equations and is applicable to any two‐dimensional surface or a surface of revolution about an axis of symmetry when, as is usually the case, Npr > 10.Keywords
