Abstract
Adult beetles attack the green developing second-year cones in the spring of the year and deposit their eggs in them. After a period of feeding the larvae pupate in the cone. In the fall, after becoming adults, some of the beetles leave the brood cones and fly to the first-year conelets, where they spend the winter, but others may remain in the brood cones until the following spring. One generation of beetles was completed in 44 days in the laboratory. Keywords
