KINETIC EQUATIONS FOR DENSE GASES A REVIEW OF PHYSICAL AND MATHEMATICAL RESULTS

Abstract
This review paper deals with the analysis of a class of nonlinear kinetic equations derived on the basis of the Enskog theory for dense gases. The physical problem of the derivation of the equation and the mathematical problem of the analysis of the existence and uniqueness of the solutions to the initial value problem are both reviewed and discussed in details. Some new results are also given.
