Abstract
The Ukraine Fellowship Programme is one of a series of International Fellowship programmes organised by the United Kingdom Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and supported financially by the Overseas Development Agency. The programme started following a visit to the Ukrainian Ministry of Health by a delegation from the Royal College of General Practitioners International Committee, when areas of mutual cooperation were identified. The overall aim of the programme was to help with the introduction of a family doctor/general practitioner-based primary health care system. The strategy of the programme is outlined, together with a description of its continuing development and early evaluation. Keywords
