Abstract
The magnetic‐circular‐dichroism spectra of the ions CoX4=(X=Cl, Br, I) have been measured in the region of the 4A2→4T1(P) transition. Available theoretical treatments are incapable of detailed explanation of the data. Mixing of the 4A2 and 4T2 states under the magnetic field is not the main contribution to the activity. Other possibilities are discussed. Keywords
