Abstract
The useful properties which may be obtained from nickel-chromium alloys are discussed. The paper deals with the available literature concerning deposition of nickel-chromium alloy deposits, reviewing the processes and claims made. It then deals with further work on some of the baths discussed. In particular, it shows how one of these systems (nickel sulphate; chromic acid based electrolytes) gives alloy deposits of possible future commercial value. Some of the results established by the Russians in 1940 for this bath are confirmed and possible thicknesses and alloy compositions which can be obtained are given. It is shown that deposition can be obtained from fluoborates. Keywords
