Abstract

In 15 self-incompatible plants of Petunia axillaris (P. nyctaginijolia Juss.), the change from a diploid condition (2[image]=14) to tetraploid (2[image] = 28) brought about by treatment with solns. of colchicine was accompanied by a change to self-compatibility in fertilization and seed formation.
