Abstract
In May, 1962, 26 pen-reared European hogs (Sus scrofa) were released near Crossville, Tennessee, in an attempt to establish another huntable population. Their behavior created public relations problems. They frequently left the boundary of the wildlife area and Tennessee Game and Fish Commission personnel returned them 22 times. A cruising radius of 1.5 to 2 miles may be typical for young European hogs. The stocking failed to establish a new population, apparently because the released animals were too tame.
