Abstract
As part of the evaluation of the display requirements needed in PACS, an ROC curve study was performed in order to assess clinical performance and compare two different display workstations using the results from the original films as a reference. It was found that in both cases the ROC curves obtained from the displays were significantly worse than obtained from the original film. It is therefore suggested that considerable care needs to be paid to the performance of such displays for them to fulfil the requirements of a clinically viable PACS system. Keywords
