Abstract
In acute care facilities, the orientation period for new graduates has been lengthened to ensure that the new nurse can confidently care for patients. The resulting extension of precepted time places preceptors at a high risk for burnout. To address this issue, team preceptorships during a nurse residency program were implemented as an alternative to a single-preceptor approach. The development, implementation, and evaluation of the team preceptorship model are discussed. Keywords
