Abstract
A sampled data model was developed to describe the major characteristics of the eye movement control system for nonpredictive tracking. It agrees with experimental transient responses and frequency characteristics for normal eye movements during following of a moving target in a horizontal plane. Furthermore, the model predicts the observed changes in transient and frequency characteristics and the limits of stability as the effective visual feedback is varied by adding the measured eye position to the target command signal. Keywords
