Abstract
The O2 consumption of 32 Philippine tree-shrews was 0.87 [plus or minus] 0.02 cc/g body wt/hr (mean and standard error). Expressed as Standard Metabolic Rate, this represented 29.7 [plus or minus] 0.8 Cal/sq. m. body surface/hr., a value corresponding to that of laboratory rats of comparable weight and maturity. No sex difference was observed. Keywords
