Abstract
A cell fraction (factor) from M. phlei cells restored reduced nicotinamide-adenine-1 dinucleotide (NADH) oxidase activity to light-exposed particles in the presence of M. phlei naphthoquinone or vitamin-K1(20). The factor was labile to storage in the cold and was inactivated by heating or exposure to light at 360 m[mu]. It completely restored NADH oxidase activity to aged electron transport particles. The factor may be an integral part of the electron transport chain in particles of M. phlei. Keywords
