Abstract
Generalized transduction in R. leguminosarum by 2 virulent bacteriophages, RL38 and RL39, is described. The transduction frequency was increased by UV irradiation of phage lysates. Cotransduction of auxotrophic and antibiotic resistance markers was shown, as was transduction of 2 P1 group R plasmids. Transduction between strains of R. trifolii and interspecific transduction from R. leguminosarum to R. trifolii occurred but no transduction from R. trifolii to R. leguminosarum was detected. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
