Abstract
Because of risks and complications inherent to retrobulbar anesthesia, alternative techniques such as peribulbar and topical approaches have been devised. These also have associated problems. We have developed a technique that combines a single, minimal volume, perilimbal injection with topical anesthesia. It provides sutureless scleral tunnel cataract surgery without the risks of retrobulbar or peribulbar anesthesia, maximizing patient comfort and allowing immediate return of vision postoperatively. Keywords
