Abstract
The method is based on preliminary purification by adsorption on Lloyd''s reagent followed by extraction with ether from soln. in 10 [image] HCl, and colorimetric detn. after nitration and neutralization with Na2CO3. With this method it was shown that N-methyl-2-pyri-done-5-carboxylic acid is not present in urine in any detectable amount normally or after the ingestion of nicotinamide. It was also shown that none of the acid is converted in the body into the corresponding amide, and that none of the amide is converted into the acid. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
