Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A sixty-year-old jeweler entered the hospital for evaluation of a gastric condition.For about ten years he had been having epigastric distress that responded to bland diets and antacids. Six years before admission he had an episode of hematemesis, and an x-ray film of the stomach was said to have shown an ulcer. He was treated conservatively but continued to have discomfort. There had been no melena or hematemesis since that time.The past history revealed sinus trouble and a postnasal drip for years.Physical examination showed a dark man of slender build.
