Abstract
Hexagonal keratotomy was performed on human cadaver eyes to measure keratometric and photokeratoscopic changes. A 5-mm central hexagonal keratotomy performed to an estimated 85% corneal depth yielded a 10.30 (± 4.23) diopter increase in keratometric power (p<0.001). Photokeratoscopy confirmed postoperative central corneal steepening in previously unoperated human eyes. The results encourage further laboratory and clinical studies of this procedure and reveal its potential to surgically correct mild degrees of hyperopia. Keywords
