Abstract
H 1 absorption spectra have been obtained for four distant pulsars (> 2 kpc) PSR 0329 +54, 0355 +54, 1933 + 16 and 2319 + 60. The observation on PSR 0329 +54 had higher resolution than previous measurements and demonstrated the presence of significant absorption in the Perseus Arm, placing the pulsar at a distance of about 2·6 kpc. The mean electron density along the lines of sight to these pulsars is ≤ 0·025 cm–3.Keywords
