Abstract
The L shell Coster–Kronig yield f23 has been measured for Z = 67 and Z = 69 by a method employing fluorescence X-ray excitation with a 241Am source, the use of Sm and Gd critical absorption filters, and Kα–Lα coincidences. The results (0.143 ± 0.010 and 0.148 ± 0.007 respectively) are in good agreement with the calculations of Chen and Crasemann which made use of an independent particle model and a Green–Sellin–Zachor potential.
