Abstract
Summary: A case is described of a patient, known to be suffering from idiopathic autonomic neuropathy, who underwent general anaesthesia for repair of a fractured neck of femur. In addition to profound hypotension, unexpected respiratory depression occurred which has not previously been described in this condition.
