Abstract
Magnetic and neutron-diffraction measurements show that the magnetic ground state of the insulating spinel Ti consists of a ferrimagnetic longitudinal component and of a spin-glass transverse component. Two transitions are observed, for the ferrimagnetic component and for the spin-glass component. The spin-glass behavior below is discussed in detail and suggestions are made for the origin of the canting.
