Gastric Autoantibodies and Cell-Mediated Immunity in Pernicious Anaemia — A Comparative Study

Abstract
The technique of leucocyte migration inhibition was used as a test of cell-mediated hypersensitivity in pernicious anaemia. Hog ‘intrinsic factor’ (Fa Nordmark, West Germany) was chosen for antigen. The percentage of migration in the presence of antigen was defined as the migration index (MI). The MI-difference between the group of PA-patients and the control group appeared statistically of high significance. No close relationship between the appearance of gastric antibodies and leucocyte migration inhibition was found.
