Abstract
Corrected survival rates for 163 cases of adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix at 5 and 10 years were 51% and 42%, respectively. For clinical Stages I to IV the 5-year survival rates were 71%, 40%, 30%, and 0%, respectively. The frequency of positive lymph nodes was 4% in Stage I and 71% in Stage II adenocarcinomas. For Stage II this figure is much higher than usually reported in squamous cell carcinoma, and suggests that these tumors behave differently. No significant difference in survival rate was found between pure adenocarcinoma, adenosquamous carcinoma, clear cell adenocarcinoma and adenoacanthoma. Histologic grade showed a direct correlation to the survival rate; for grade I tumors it was about 60%, whereas for patients with grade IV tumors only about 10% survived. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
