Abstract
The red cell glutamic-pyruvic transaminase phenotype has been determined in 294 individuals from the region of the Po delta (Ferrara, Northern Italy). No correlation with past malarial morbidity has been detected. The gene frequencies found in this survey are similar to those reported for other Caucasian populations. One GPT 3 GPT 1 individual has been found. Keywords
