Abstract
In order lo determine the effectiveness of splinting for reducing the sympioms of carpal tunnel syndrome a prospective study was performed on the hands of 12 patients. A pre-test post-test non-equivalent control group design was utilized. A polyethelene working splint worn for one week was found to significantly reduce the intensity and frequency of the symptoms of numbness, pain, and tingling associated with carpal tunnel syndrome. Keywords
