Abstract
One hundred patients with vaginitis due to a variety of organisms, including trichomonas, candida and non-specific infections were treated in a randomized comparative trial with either Providone-Iodine (Betadine) pessaries or Lactic acid pessaries. Successful results were obtained in 94% of patients with Povidone-Iodine pessaries with a relapse rate of 2·8% after three months, and 34% with Lactic acid pessaries with a relapse rate of 72%. Both these differences were highly significant with p < 0·001.Keywords
