Abstract
In intact dogs rendered anemic by hemorrhage the cardiac output, determined by the Fick method, is increased, provided shock be not induced. There is a loose correlation between the decrease in the hemoglobin content of the blood and the increase in cardiac output. Oxygen consumption is usually greater during the period of anemia. Capillary O pressure, inferred to be reduced in these experiments, is suggested as an important factor in the regulation of cardiac output. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
