Abstract
The skeletal muscle, capillaries, and spleen of fish with ulcerative skin lesions from a commercial fish pond in Supanburi and a natural pond in Patumtani province were examined. Various sizes and shapes of bacilli as well as fungi were found in the superficial portion of ulcers by negative staining. Virus-like particles in the necrotic, degenative muscle fibers and endothelium of the capillaries were seen by the ultrathin section. Oval, round, and kidney shaped pleomorphic forms with nucleocapsid-like structures surrounded by envelope with budding processes were observed. Keywords
