The Resolution of a Spark Imaging Camera (Spintharicon) with Parallel Channel Collimators

Abstract
The results of resolution measurements performed on a spark imaging camera are presented. The minimum separation distance is shown to be essentially defined by the collimator design. Excellent images of a hexagonally-shaped phantom are obtained with the spark camera and these are compared with scintiscans of the same phantom. The spark camera exhibits a resolution superior to that obtainable with scintillation line scanners. Early work in which the spark camera was applied to radiography with microcurle sources is described.
