Abstract
Senegenin, the sapogenin from Polygalasenega has been shown to contain chlorine; it has the empirical formula C30OH45O6Cl. The oxygen atoms, contrary to earlier work, are contained in two carboxyl groups and two secondary hydroxyl groups. There is one isolated ethylenic linkage. The environment of the hydroxylic functions and one carboxyl group has been shown to be as in (XI).This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
