Abstract
A brief clinical and epidemiological description of an explosive epidemic including a study of 105 out of 209 cases is reported. A Short incubation period followed by rapid onset and termination without sequelae characterized the infection. Evidence thus far accumulated indicates that a filterable virus is the etiologi-cal agent of this unusual disease. Keywords
