Left Axis Deviation with Left Bundle Branch Block

Abstract
In this study of left axis deviation and left bundle branch block, 28% of patients had left anterior fascicular block prior to the development of left bundle branch block. In the remainder, left axis deviation occurred at the onset of left bundle branch block. In these patients, left axis deviation may be due to the preferential reentrance of the activation wave into the posterior fascicle below the area of block. No acute event was statistically related to onset of left bundle branch block.
