Abstract
A male patient with a 14-year history of UC (ulcerative colitis) had a helper-suppressor ratio (H/S) of 0.25 during a suspected exacerbation of chronic colitis. Prednisone and sulfasalazine were administered. Despite a transient clinical response he developed AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) and KS (Kaposi's sarcoma) within 3 months of initiating therapy. Keywords
