Abstract
Temporary arterial and venous shunting was employed to reduce warm ischemia in major [human] limb replantation and revascularization on 8 occasions. This allowed identification of vital structures, thorough debridement, and rigid internal or external skeletal fixation prior to definitive arterial repair. Arterial shunting was not associated with any significant complications and had improved operative technique in these severe vascular injuries. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
