Multinucleon removal induced by 80-MeVHe3

$\gamma$ ray spectra were observed following the bombardment of thin ${}_{}{}^{24}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Mg}$, ${}_{}{}^{26}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Mg}$, ${}_{}{}^{27}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Al}$, Fe, ${}_{}{}^{58}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ni}$, and ${}_{}{}^{64}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Zn}$ targets with an 80-MeV ${}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$ beam. Product nuclei were identified using their characteristic $\gamma$ rays. Qualitative features of the results can be understood in terms of the evaporation process preceded by pre-equilibrium emission. Results with ${}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$ are similar to those obtained with comparable energy proton and pion beams. Systematics are discussed.
