Formation and damping of relativistic strong shocks

Abstract
Results are presented from a detailed study of the formation of strong relativistic shocks from simple waves and their subsequent damping. Both analytical and numerical techniques have been used. In this paper planar flow is considered and self-gravity of the waves is neglected.Keywords
