Abstract
Electron impact double ionisation cross sections for Mg have been calculated by using the improved double binary encounter model. Contributions of inner-shell ionisations have been included in the calculation. The calculated cross sections are in good agreement with the recent experimental measurements of Karstensen and Schneider (1978). The structures observed in the experimentally determined cross sections have been explained by the present calculation. Keywords
