Abstract
The purpose of this work is to investigate the properties of a generalized coupled-transmission-line directional coupler which consists of two non-identical uniform conductors imbedded in a non-homogeneous dielectric medium. Because the conventional even- and odd-mode formalism becomes impotent for this kind of structure, a multiple-reflection formulation of multiconductor transmission lines is reviewed and utilized in the analysis. General expressions of the directional coupler port voltages are presented and special cases are obtained from them. For the interest of illustration a numerical example is given. Keywords
