Eleven lakes in central Sweden were sampled and analyzed for Ca, Mg, Na, K, HCO3, SO4 and Cl. In addition, the pK, color and conductivity were determined. Results are compared with those previously determined by Lohammar in a number of lakes in the vicinity of Uppsala. The distribution of ions and conductivity is discussed in relation to altitude, proximity to the Baltic, abundance of calcareous marl, etc.
