Abstract
Recently, there has been substantial progress in the area of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) research. This review serves as an up-to-date summary of the history of BMPs, the mechanisms of BMP signalling and the role of BMPs in adipose, kidney, liver, bone and nervous system. The potential of BMPs as therapeutic agents will also be discussed. Keywords
