Abstract
Continuing the illustrative example of the preceding paper, the scattering of slow neutrons by two protons bound to a molecule is treated by variational methods. A numerical evaluation indicates that the Fermi approximation to the para-hydrogen cross section is reliable to about 0.3 percent.Keywords
