Abstract
The absorption spectra of four manganoue hydrated salts (sulphate, chloride, fluosilicate and ammonium sulphate) have been investigated at 78°k and 20°k in the 15 000 cm−1 to 30 000 cm−l range. Several group of linea are found, eome of them ehowing aubsplitting of the order of 10 cm−l. The results am satkfactorily inteqmten by meam of the ligand field theory; a qualitative diecusaion of refinements of the cubic field echeme in relation to the observed epectra is also given. Keywords
