Urbanization Impact on Streamflow

Abstract
Studies of the impact of urbanization on runoff in the Tulsa metropolitan area are based on 114 floods recorded in Oklahoma City, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin, since satisfactory streamflow data are not available for Tulsa. It was found that impervious areas do not appreciably affect runoff timing and affect runoff volume much less than was anticipated. A model for computing urban runoff changes and calibration criteria are suggested, along with step-by-step procedure description.
