Abstract
The high level of structural organization displayed by the cardiovascular system of cephalopods promises a similar complexity in its functional organization. In spite of an extensive literature on this subject most of the work is old and inadequate in techniques and experimental procedures (Fuchs, 1895; Fredericq, 1914). The only physiological parameters hitherto recorded of any value for the evaluation of cardiovascular dynamics have been arterial and venous blood pressures (Johansen & Martin, 1962).This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
