Abstract
A Consultative Clinic for elderly persons is based upon persons sought out from general practice lists by health visitors ("public health nurses"). Many persons with disability were discovered, most of them at a stage where relatively simple measures sufficed for their relief. The health visitors were efficient in their assessment of physical disability, but less so with psychiatric conditions. With proper training health visitors could be used to screen elderly persons, referring to the consultative clinic those who presented significant disabilities. Keywords
