Abstract
To the Editor: We wish to bring to the attention of physicians and laboratory and industrial workers the possibility that hydrazine may induce a syndrome similar to systemic lupus erythematosus. Certain other drugs, such as hydralazine, have been known to induce such a syndrome. According to their molecular structures, hydrazine (NH2NH2) corresponds to the chemically reactive portion of the hydralazine molecule (NHNH2).Hydrazine sulfate has been used routinely in our laboratory for the enzymatic determination of lactate, 1 malate, 2 and beta-hydroxybutyrate.3 After these assays had been used on a regular basis in the laboratory for . . .Keywords
