Abstract
Stellarators appear to be back in business. After a series of consistently disappointing results in the 1960's, Lyman Spitzer's scheme for plasma confinement in a toroidal fusion device was generally abandoned in the last decade by American magnetic‐confinement researchers, in favor of the more promising tokamak concept.Keywords
