Backward proton production and high-momentum components of nuclei

Abstract
The production of energetic protons at 180° by the inclusive reaction is studied. A mechanism which involves nucleon transfer and relates the inclusive cross section to the total cross section and realistic nuclear single-particle momentum distributions gives a qualitative understanding of the data.
