EFFECTS OF PREHYDRATION AND REPEATED OR PROLONGED THERMAL STRESS ON THE ELECTROLYTE CONTENT OF THERMAL SWEAT

Abstract
The "SAUNA bath" was used as a heat stress. No effect on sweat electrolytes occurred as a result of pre-hydration. Repeated thermal sweating caused a significant increase of Na and Cl; K did not change. The effect of thermal sweating is different from that produced by intense muscular work. The effects of thermal sweating may represent decreased adrenal function.
